We went to a famous dumpling house, De Fa Chang Dumplings, that is located by Muslim Street. They changed up a few dumplings from our last visit. But still a great time.
We strolled down Muslim Street in XIan to get a view on the many ways to cook lamb.
The Five Zen5es has a dim sum buffet which is pretty decent value. The Shangri-la dim sum buffet is probably a bit better, but this one is still good.
We walked around the corner to get some bbq meats at a restaurant translated as Loulan ancient and beautiful. The lamb is quite hearty.
We grabbed a drink after dinner at the lounge. Its a relaxing place for drinks.
The Japanese restaurant at Westin Xian is not the best tasting but it does have decent value.
We dropped by the wall to shop for goodies to take home.
Small Shell seems to be a popular seafood restaurant for the Xian locals. We had a nice lunch in between interviews and presentations.
Duo is supposed to be the best Spanish restaurant in Xian. I don’t know how many Spanish restaurants there are in Xian, but I do think the food and service are pretty good. We even got a bit of live … Continue reading
After a long day, we had a late dinner and drinks. Notably, we had a local snack of Xian variant of hamburger
After a morning of interviews we went to Duo, a Spanish theme restaurant, at Gran Melia. The food and service we excellent. The lamb was especially notable.
We got off to a nice start with breakfast at Yi Cafe
I came across Cyclist in Trip Advisor. It is a bit hidden away, but we managed to get there without too much trouble. The food, value, and service are great.
After getting to the hotel, we had some time to wait for a room. The dim sum buffet is quite a good value. Everything was excellent.
We had a go with the dim sum buffet with more people to participate. The selection and value were great.
The Wild Goose Pagoda has some nice views and relics to check out. The area is built up a little bit with malls and modern comforts. It works out if you want a decent bathroom or cafe to relax.
We had a taste of the Chinese ‘hamburger’ The seasonings on the pork vaguely reminded me of a pulled pork sandwich. Its pretty tasty.
After dinner, we strolled Muslim Street. It is a bit hectic and you need to pay attention for pick pockets. The food stalls are entertaining and you can buy some trinkets.
While I handled some recruiting, Christine and Eliza checked out the market by the city wall of Xian.

I had the family with me for this recruiting trip. We got lucky with an upgrade to a suite and free breakfast. The selection is quite nice.
There is a small glass box at the gate for smokers to take their smoke. I think I would give up smoking before stuffing myself in the box.

We stopped at one of Xian’s recently restored gates. Although the visibility is not great because of the poor air quality, we managed to get some nice pics.
We had a dim sum buffet at Tian Xiang Ge, Shangri La in Xian. The dim sum was excellent and the price was good. We definitely got good value for money.
We stopped at a few places around Xian and wrapped up at the hotel for a drink before hitting the sack.
We went to Redfort Indian restaurant for dinner. I would not expect good Indian food in Xian, but Redfort was great.
We stopped off at Caprice for some appetizers before heading over to the university for recruiting.
After finishing the successful recruiting trip, we had a chance to have lunch and visit the market by the city wall before flying back to Shanghai. We saw some interesting sights and enjoyed the nice weather.
We had a great lunch at La Seine after our morning interviews. The French restaurant has good views of the Bell Tower. The decor seemed to be overdone with roses, but the service and food were decent. If you want … Continue reading
