Getting close to end of year and I have some catch up done with old friends. Our lunch at Brio and the grilled pork chop is a regular thing now.
After a scramble to get Andrew’s exam completed, we stopped at Smash Burger. The burger is not bad. The spicy fries were a bit too salty for my taste.
What a nice dinner at mom’s place for Christmas Eve.
I met up with my former manager at Brazil Grill for some drinks and snacks. The chicken was seasoned nicely and very juicy.
It was my first time over to Mastro’s Steakhouse. I liked the stone crab and oysters to open the meal. My ribeye turned out pretty nicely. I was too stuffed to go for any dessert.
I had a chance to drop by 44 and x. I got my usual salmon tartar. The burger looked great. The short ribs were quite nice too.
We caught a showing of Stomp in the afternoon. The village area is nice to hang out for the day. We got a snack and hot apple cider at DF Maven before the show. Stomp is quite entertaining and … Continue reading
We had a nice morning at the skating rink. It is nice to get there early and see the Christmas decorations before the crowds arrive later in the day.
I had a nice lunch with a former intern at Oceana. The fish and chips is a good option. Unlike many places, the fish is quite meaty and tasty. The general tso lobster was a bit on the salty side.
We went to Billy Joel concert at Madison Square Garden. I managed to get seated just in time for the show to kick off. He puts on a very nice show and covers all the famous songs. He also manages … Continue reading
My old college buddy took me out for lunch to discuss some opportunities. We’ll see how things go. At least the lunch was solid. The tuna appetizer was very nice.
We had a team lunch to welcome a new member to the team. The team favorite is Yershari. You can enjoy a nice selection of spicy dishes for a reasonable price.
The Yi Cafe at Shangri-la is a decent buffet. We had our annual end of year dinner and had a nice time. Good thing we only do it once a year or we would have a lot of calories to … Continue reading
After a quick tour of the art gallery at Pullman, we got some tea and headed upstairs for lunch. Tsubasa over is a nice Japanese restaurant. The service was decent too.
A friend took me out for lunch before my trip to NY for holidays. Lamma Rainbow Seafood is quite decent food. I like the salted egg yolk shrimp and shrimp dumplings.
During lunch at Element Fresh, I tried the seafood stew. It is a bit light, but it was good for my diet needs. The salads are usually a good bet at Element Fresh.
I wonder how you can win food
I am not quite sure how you can have a 9D experience.
We gave Spicy Lab a shot on a rainy night in Shanghai. We ended up having the place to ourselves and got an endless stream of hot pot/bbq. The food was nice and the staff treated us well.
We dropped by Whampoa Club for a lunch set. The views are nice, but given a choice, I would go to Jean-Georges in the same building. They did have some special areas for tea tasting and candy figures. They let … Continue reading
It was a rough day at work, but we got in a manager lunch at Ko Ko No I. The service was nice and we had a nice selection of sushi and beef.
I had a number of points on Element Fresh that expire at end of year. I cashed in the points for a dinner before I fly out of Shanghai for the year. The appetizer was ok, but I wasn’t that … Continue reading
On my recent trip to San Francisco, my friend sent me this picture of carb overload from Gengki Crepes. He was quite happy with the concoction.
Every year, the Waldorf does some nice decorations for Christmas. I think the number of trees in the lobby made the place feel like a forest, but the decor was still nice. The mix of Disney and Sponge Bob characters … Continue reading
We did a very nice Sunday Brunch at Waldorf. The morning started with oysters and apps at the Long Bar. The staff brought unlimited oysters and finger food over to the table. We moved on to the Brasserie and got … Continue reading
I attended a small party in the loft of Cafe Sambal. The place is a bit hidden away in an alley of Jiashan Market, but it is nicely decorated and clean. The satay and curry chicken were quite nice.
The pumpkin soup was very nice. The hummus and pepper sandwich was ok. I like the hummus at Element Fresh a bit better.
I had the egg set at Baker and Spice. It is not bad, but I like the parma ham and smoked salmon set better.
It is a Sunday night and seems nobody is keen on a gym workout. Let me see I can work off my weekend meals.
The new choice for today was vegetable paella.
We had another return trip to La Societe Rock Bund to take advantage of the dim sum special.
The Bund had an interesting display of dwarf santas smacked into the building
We tried to mix up a little on the rolls, but we still got the usual tuna salad to start off the meal. All good.
